The purpose of the Virginia Orthopaedic Society is to foster quality orthopaedic care for the citizens of the Commonwealth. This shall be accomplished by:
- Assembling into one group the practicing orthopaedists in the
state who have a strong interest in orthopaedics.
- Advancing the study of orthopaedics; thereby contributing to its
growth and influence.
- Encouraging research and scientific progress in orthopaedics.
- Serving as a forum for discussion of scientific and political issues that are of importance to the state's orthopaedists.
- Supporting the goals of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
